Hello all...not much going on here....Just wanted to write a quick note and say have a good weekend. Enjoy the last month of summer...I am going to visit my daughter this weekend..
New coach and all...shaking head...we stink...
I found one update for today, which is a good thing as it was pointed out that I may have been a bit off with the year I listed for Mr. Lincoln. Never wanting to be the cause of misinformation, it was 1861, not 1961 as typed. It just proves that I should wear my glasses when proofreading the updates.
As long as I'm printing a retraction/correction, here's another fun fact. On this day in 1926, Gertrude Ederle became the first woman to swim the English Channel!
Since things have been quiet with the chatting, I thought I'd share some fun facts. On this day in 1961 Abraham Lincoln imposed the first income tax and in 1914 the first traffic light was installed! Well, perhaps you'll enjoy reading the stories below a bit more. And since we haven't reminded you for a while…if you like what you read, or don't like what you read, please remember to provide feedback to the Bards who generously put their talent out there for us all to enjoy!
